After being launched from the support vessel, the NEAT + WATER submarine begins the next stage of its mission: a controlled descent into the ocean.

With all onboard systems verified and operational, the submarine prepares to leave the surface and travel toward its designated working depth. This process is carefully managed to ensure stability, safety, and efficiency throughout the descent.

To begin its journey downward, the submarine gradually fills designated ballast chambers with seawater. As water enters these chambers, the vehicle becomes heavier and begins to sink beneath the surface in a controlled manner. Advanced navigation and monitoring systems continuously track the submarine's position, orientation, and descent rate as it travels through the water column.

The descent is an important part of the mission. Ocean conditions change with depth, and the submarine is designed to navigate these conditions while maintaining precise control over its movement. Sensors constantly collect environmental data and communicate with onboard systems to ensure the vehicle reaches its target depth safely.

As the submarine moves deeper into the ocean, it enters a world largely unseen by humans. Sunlight gradually fades, temperatures change, and the surrounding water pressure increases. These unique ocean conditions create an environment that NEAT + WATER is specifically designed to explore and utilize.

The support vessel remains at the surface throughout the operation, monitoring the submarine's progress and maintaining communication whenever possible. This coordination between surface and underwater systems ensures that each mission follows its planned operational profile.

Upon reaching its designated depth, the submarine transitions from its descent phase into the next stage of the NEAT + WATER process. Having successfully arrived at its operational zone, the vehicle is now positioned to begin the core functions of its mission.

The descent marks more than just a change in depth—it represents the transition from deployment to active operation. It is the moment when the submarine leaves the surface world behind and enters the environment where the next chapter of the NEAT + WATER mission begins.

In the next step, the submarine reaches its target depth and prepares to utilize the surrounding ocean environment as part of its innovative water production process.
